As Professionals it is incumbent on us to both understand and to be able to negotiate a way forward or a treatment plan with as much clarity as possible. This clarity comes from a dedicated study of Self and also of Relationship with other, of which boundaries are an integral part.

A boundary as a concept is often depicted as a threshold. Such a boundary might be protected or violated but either way the possibilities of interaction are limited and thus the possibilities for healing are limited.  What if a boundary was a meeting place? Perhaps we should consider the paradoxical idea that boundaries offer us an opportunity to experience increased clarity and real relationship such that healing becomes a possible outcome.
