Seminar #3: Intro to Reflexology for Trauma & Addiction
Intro to Reflexology for Trauma & Addiction
Speaker: Chantel C. Lucier
Author, Certified Reflexology Practitioner & Teacher, Reiki Master Practitioner & Teacher, and Certified in Mudra Therapy, and Certified Massage Therapist
➡️ Description
The imprints of trauma and addiction are sometimes seen, but, oftentimes, they are well-hidden, even from those who suffer. The consequences of trauma and addiction reside deep within one’s physiology. In this way, trauma is not something that happened in the past, but rather something that continues to dwell in one’s tissues and cells.
As reflexology in a bottom-up practice, we have a unique opportunity to connect with our client’s nervous system (the very system that is impacted by trauma and addiction). It is through our state of being, the words we choose, our specific tactile input (reflexology techniques and subtle rotations/holds) that can create an environment for relief. Reflexology is like a silent conversation that can have great impact and lasting effects, especially if the practitioner learns some fundamental tools to help hold space for a client’s healing process to unfold.
🙌 In this 90-minute seminar, students will learn:
- The fundamentals of what Chantel refers to as a No-Mind Approach to Wellness;
- How to provide a Compassionate Intake Process (C.I.P.);
- The affects trauma and addiction have on the neurological system;
- Areas of the brain and body that are affected by trauma and addiction;
- The importance of self-inquiry and healing for the practitioner;
- How to recognize and be present for trauma in self and others; and
- A reflexology guide (formerly referred to as a protocol) for client-care and self-care.
