➡️ Description:
CALM technique for stress was developed by Inspira Academy, originally in response to a need for a simple treatment that could be administered in palliative care settings. It was then taught to hospice, hospital and peripatetic reflexology therapists. It became evident that CALM was also very appropriate to use with clients who were very ‘stressed’ and like the name suggests, it has a very CALMing effect.
Rather than looking at the anatomy reflected in feet, you will identify high and low areas of ‘energy’ instead. The purpose of a CALM treatment is to balance those highs and lows – to disperse and redistribute. Whilst we may not know, or identify the causes of the extremes in energy or whether they represent a physical high or low or an emotional high or low, what we do know is that after treating with CALM, the recipients (at Inspira Academy we call them clients) reflect on how different they feel and that problems that were ‘stressing them out’ suddenly felt less important, less of a problem and nearly all say ‘I just feel much calmer!’.
You will be taught how to identify what is a visual and tactile high and low and the incredibly simple, but incredibly effective way to balance these highs and lows. To complete the treatment we will treat the reflected chakra points on the medial aspect of the feet to really ensure harmony and balance has been achieved!
